For those of you who don’t know, Britney Spears is most possibly my biggest career influence. Over the years she’s gotten flack for not being a “singer”, not writing a majority of her hits, and her highly public meltdown. The Britney Spears I prefer to remember is one that is dancing her a$$ off with a Boa around her neck, or the one that chose to take the lead in her career, and do whatever risky things could come to mind; sure alot of it flopped, sure alot of it was corny, cliche, and sometimes even horrible, but still she took that chance. But enough with me being a superfan, she’s got enough money not to really give a sh*t about what anyone is saying at this point, oh and she sang Toxic, possibly one of the best pop songs of the last 20 years (not including ballads). So this is a remix I’ve been sitting on for a while, waiting for the right moment to post it, and in the sake of taking chances I get ready for a new breed of HalfStyle/Britney Mixes… the remixtape isn’t done yet, but it’s coming. Until then, here is my Remix of Inside Out, possible my favorite Britney song of this era, and I turned it… Inside Out… corny, I know… don’t judge me.

New Music Muse – Mollie Jay x Glass on the Dancefloor Premier

So as of late, alot of you have noticed that I so rarely post this days, and it’s because I’ve got a new lady in my life, her name is Mollie Jay, and she is my muse. Mollie and I have written and recorded upwards of 15 songs for her upcoming EP, and LP, the first time I’ve truly collaborated this much with one artist. From the fruit of our labor I’d like to share with you the first single from a yet to be titled upcoming project Glass on the Dancefloor; from the very first recording of Glass we both new it was the first single, it was the first song that we finally found our true groove, and she was the first person to write the right song for the track I had provided, so much so that I revamped the entire track around what she wrote.

So I’m no celebrating the fact that my second [Femme Fatale was the first] most anticipated album of the year leaked early [today] (:-/) but Dev‘s The Night The Sun Came Up is something I’ve been waiting on pretty much since I introduced my friends to Like A G6 2(?) years ago. The first time I heard The Cataracs I freaked; they are the perfect combination between Dance Pop and Swagger, and in my opinion there’s nothing better than a pop track with some true swagger, and Dev is that sexy cherry on top of The Cataracs sizzling productions that work best. So I’m back, I can’t promise you that I’ll never leave again, but I can say, that I’ll try not to. Rather than wasting time divulging what I’ve been working on, and what’s taken me so long to step back into the remix scene full time, and the perils of being an “Inbetweener” let’s jump straight back into the music.

Due to long time collaborator Wallpaper. releasing the stems for this last night (though they are not the original stems that were sent to the original set of remixers I decided that it would be best to go ahead and post this “bad larry”. Love, Hate, & Out-takes

So, I’m back, and not necessarily with something new. Through the last few months, I’ve been looking over the cutting room floor, and thinking, “Wow, I’d love to redo this..” or just the thought of “Why?” the rhetorical question I’ve been asking myself for sometime at this point. But with every great movie, or every trainwreck of a movie, there are deleted scenes, and here we are together now, reviewing some of my best, and worst takes. But if since my art typically mimics my life, or the lives around me, then my music must be the sound track of my life, regardless of how stupid, gritty, or relevant.

So if this is your first time listening to my music, I would encourage an open mind, because I am doing this purely because if we can’t learn from our past mixtakes [you see that, clever huh?] or see our greatest triumphs we’ll never grow, and because good or bad, these songs are apart of what have made me relevant, and songs that I’ve either kept hidden, or somewhat on a leash.

The vaults been opened, and I’ve chosen these 7 songs off my cutting room floor, to show a side of me that is less controlled, sometimes more conventional, and definitely not quite as edgy as a majority of reMixtapes 3 or 4. This is tHS is the most RAW form possible, some of this isn’t mastered, some of this isn’t even mastered, some of this is various states of musical undress. This isn’t about the gimmick, but it’s not always about the music either, but this is your trip inside my mind, and regardless of the mental health I hope you enjoy.

The journeys definitely not over, truly new music is right around the corner, just like some major life changes, I am officially going to be done with my vacation shortly, and I can’t wait to show you what I have in store, so you’ll just have to wait.
